Superbowl Ads: Audi

You either watch it for the game or the commercials. Yesterday was Superbowl Sunday, and so of course all of us at Off Madison Ave were into the commercials that were shown. I gathered some of my co-workers into the boardroom here at the office to watch some of their favorites and discuss them. I'll post more throught the week, but for now, here is the Audi commercial with Jason Statham, and what the crew here at Off Madison Ave thought of it:

If you want to see all of yesterday's commercials, as well as some of the classic commercials through the years, check them out at Yahoo! Video.

I am the Social Media Services Manager for Off Madison Ave. I've been with the company since 2006, when I was hired to do SEO, and link building in particular. When social networking sites started cropping up, at first I started using them to create backlinks - but they weren't the best for that, given all of the "nofollow" attributes. However, I did see the potential for all of the direct referral traffic they represent. Since then I've been actively pursuing both tactics for clients: Links that can help them for search, and social postings that get them involved in the conversation. It's about the coolest job you could ever get. ;)

Love your video format...great idea! I didn't really care much for the Audi spot when I saw it. It just didn't resonate with me, but then hopefully for Audi's sake I'm not in their target audience!

I hadn't considered whether it was a "hero" or a "villain" in the spot. I think I was too busy trying to figure out what the heck the spot was all about.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Katy! I wasn't set on how to present these at first, so it's nice to hear the format works for you.

I agree on the Audi spots - if you watch the "preview" commercials they had, there was a great deal of build up to these, trying to make the spot out to be like a movie premier. Perhaps it works better for Jason Statham or "Transporter" fans? Hard to tell.

Thanks for the response though! :)
