Friday Blog Question: What everyone brought to eat

Yesterday was the annual Off Madison Ave Thanksgiving Potluck Lunch. It's a great tradition, where we all chow down on long tables and eat tasty foods. I had been planning to shoot some video, but after the video intrusion of last year, I got a lot of bad looks - three of which made me fear for my life. So I'll just repost last year's video so you can see what I mean. Starring Laura Hall, our former Director of PR: So what did everyone bring to the potluck?

Store bought potato salad, but I did go to the trouble of removing the price tags. Classy. Michelle Zimmerman
I “bought” macaroni/pasta salad that looks pretty good but I have no idea if it really will be since I’ve never had this brand/type before. I’m really selling it well, huh. Amy Rushia
Made some meatballs — kind of experimental, actually. The sauce turned out to be a little thin but still tasty. Used beer (lots), ketchup, brown sugar, garlic, onion and umm, some other stuff. William Smith
I just brought rolls. Took the easy way out this year. Joseph Jaramillo
Lamb fries. Chris Sietsema
Homemade mini chocolate éclairs. Judi Merrick
Green bean casserole. One of my favorite side dishes. Holly Ringerud
I baked blueberry cheesecake phyllo cups but Monique stole my heart with her sweet potato dish. Mmmmm... Amanda Wolfe

I am the Social Media Services Manager for Off Madison Ave. I've been with the company since 2006, when I was hired to do SEO, and link building in particular. When social networking sites started cropping up, at first I started using them to create backlinks - but they weren't the best for that, given all of the "nofollow" attributes. However, I did see the potential for all of the direct referral traffic they represent. Since then I've been actively pursuing both tactics for clients: Links that can help them for search, and social postings that get them involved in the conversation. It's about the coolest job you could ever get. ;)

Monique says:

I brought a sweet potato souffle. It is pretty tasty if I do say so myself.

Carol says:

I confess, one of the dirty looks is from me. No one looks good eating turkey on camera. No one.

Give your two cents
