Just a happy story about Microsoft not doing well
It is hopeful to me to see such big companies as Dell and HP rejecting Microsoft's inferior, bug-laiden mess Vista in favor of their previous OS, Windows XP. This latest article shows their continuing bad luck, as companies find a way around Microsoft's attempt to force their broken product on computer manufacturers and, in turn, us. What goes around comes around! ;)

I am the Social Media Services Manager for Off Madison Ave. I've been with the company since 2006, when I was hired to do SEO, and link building in particular.
When social networking sites started cropping up, at first I started using them to create backlinks - but they weren't the best for that, given all of the "nofollow" attributes. However, I did see the potential for all of the direct referral traffic they represent. Since then I've been actively pursuing both tactics for clients: Links that can help them for search, and social postings that get them involved in the conversation.
It's about the coolest job you could ever get. ;)

As much as I share your delight in things going wrong for MS, this is really more about Vista not doing well than Microsoft not doing well. In either case you end up with a PC running a version of Windows. That's a win for Microsoft even if that version of Windows isn't Vista.
If you want to make a statement, order a laptop sans OS (good luck!), and throw Linux on it. Or just get a Mac.
