But what if you ARE as good looking as George Clooney?
Seth Godin has a neat post today about perceptions based on physicality - or, how someone can or cannot be believed or trusted because they don't look or sound like George Clooney. And I absolutely agree. This has been true since high school, when the people blessed with looks and clothes became everyone's friend, and the ones who weren't became background noise. As time goes on, and we do more and more of this "networking" on line, I think this will change. Some people have looks AND brains, but at this stage of my advanced dotage, I find that most have one or the other. And it's tough to charm your way though not knowing what you're doing when you are doing it over Gtalk or email. To use that stuff, you have to be smart. And with that, the high school geeks of yesteryear will score yet another devastating blow to the cheerleaders and football players. :)
